People learn from their failures. Seldom do they learn anything from success. (Harold Geneen)
I want you to remember the time when you got a good result in a mock exam. Didn't you feel like bragging to someone? Since you got a good result, it is logical to decide that the way you had studied up to that point was correct. It is a so-called "success experience.
However, what if you get a result that is far below the borderline of the school you want to enter, or just on the edge of the borderline? You may have to increase your study time more than before, increase the quota of problems you have to solve, and think about where and when you can study more intensively. In any case, you would keep thinking of improvements and put them into action, wouldn't you?
Students who pass the entrance exams to the medical schools of the former imperial or national universities are often regarded as "geniuses," but I can tell you from my experience in teaching such excellent students that
"They make a lot of mistakes without anyone seeing them.”
I have had the experience of teaching such excellent students.
