「旧帝・国立大学医学部」受験対策講座（１4）

　生徒や保護者の中には、

「ヤル気のない生徒をヤル気にさせるのが教師のやること」

　と主張される方がみえる。それは、教師や講師をスーパーマンか神様と思っているから言えること。

　生徒自身が難関校に合格したいとも思わず、問題に手をつけない場合、講師にできることは何もない。本当に愚かな生徒は

「あんたはオレの得点を上げる魔法の方法を知ってんだろ！教えろよ！」

　と言う。黙って座って授業を聞けばスイスイ学力が上がると思っている。そのあげくに、

「オレ様が塾をやめたら困るだろう！」

　と言う。

　残念だけど困らない。塾の評判は合格実績で決まるので、成績優秀な子に来てもらう必要がある。これは、現実的に言うと「賢い子に来てもらい、愚かな子には去ってもらう」ということだ。アホな子が去ると、周囲の目は塾にプラスに働くものだ。旧帝が大量の生徒を落として名声を勝ち取るシステムと同じこと。

　Some students and parents claim that "it is the teacher's job to motivate students who are not willing to work.” 


　If the students themselves do not want to pass a difficult school and do not touch the problems, there is nothing the teacher can do. The really stupid students are the ones who say

"You know the magic way to raise my score! Teach me!"

　and say, "You know, I'm not going to pass the class.“ 　They think that if they just sit quietly and listen to the class, their academic performance will improve. And then, to top it all off.

"You'll be in trouble if I stop coming to this cram school!"

　I am sorry to say, but it won't be a problem. The reputation of a cram school is determined by the success of its students, so it is necessary to have students with excellent grades come to the school. 

   This means, realistically speaking, that we need the smart students to come and the stupid ones to leave. When the stupid students leave, the surrounding people will have a positive effect on the cram school.

    It is the same thing as the system in which the old empire wins prestige by dropping large numbers of students.
